HOGENT University of Applied Sciences and Arts, public institution with legal personality, consists of 7 Schools (School of Teacher Training, School of Healthcare, School of Social Welfare, School of Built Environment, School of IT and Digital Innovation, School of Business and Management, School of Bioscience and Industrial Technology), the Royal Academy of Fine Arts & Royal Conservatory and GO5 (associate degrees – EQF 5). 20 departments are responsible for over 40 study programs based on eight campuses in Ghent, Aalst and Melle. The Central Administration with 11 Offices (Education,Research, Communication,… ) support the Schools and Departments.
HOGENT offers 13 associate degrees, 24 professional bachelors, 4 academic bachelors (arts) and 4 masters (arts). 5 of these programs are unique in Flanders: Fashion Technology, Retail Management, Textile Technology, Wood Technology and Contemporary Music. In addition, 6 advanced bachelors, 1 advanced master (arts), and 23 postgraduate programs are part of the educational offering. HOGENT has over 17,000 students and 2,150 staff members, including 275 researchers who are active in over a hundred national and international research projects.
Since the 2020-2021 academic year, HOGENT’s practice-based scientific research has been brought together in a Centre for Applied Data Science and 11 interdisciplinary research centres.
