The Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU) is a public university with long tradition and respected position among European and world higher educational institutions. There are around 18 000 students enrolled in the BSc., MSc. and Ph.D. study programmes at six faculties and one institute. The international students (both degree and Erasmus+ students) reach more than 20 % of all the enrolled students. The CZU is a member of the Euro-League for Life Sciences (ELLS), which is a network of leading universities, specialized in the fields of Natural Resource Management, Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, Life Sciences, Food Sciences and Environmental Sciences.
Institute of Education and Communication (IEC) is an independent university unit that provides studies in pedagogy; there is 12 academic staff of pedagogy, didactic, psychology and other specialized subjects supported by 6 administrative staff. The IEC offers BSc. study programmes in pedagogical specialisation for teachers of practical training and one study programme aimed at career counselling and education. Students gain competences in pedagogy, psychology, educational process management and career guidance. Graduates find work positions not only as teachers, but also as educational counsellors, education managers or officers and staff in human resources management. In addition, the IEC implements several lifelong learning courses for teachers from secondary vocational schools in order to develop their pedagogic, didactic, multicultural, managerial and communication competences.
